This is an evolutional and diversified agriculture as far as production
is concerned.
The last 20 years have been marked by:
a
25% decrease in cereal areas, actually corresponding to frost and fallow;
an
outburst for oleaginous products;
a
strong reduction in dairy cattle breeding and in
swine breeding;
a
small decrease in cattle breeding;
an
outburst for meat poultry and fat poultry.
Agriculture in Gers is most of all:
competitive
channels which give a priority to quality,
operating
structures harmoniously distributed all over the
country,
an
environment-friendly agriculture,
educated
men and women, who can evolve and adapt to new
constraints.
