Departmental Agriculture
and Wine-growing Laboratory
The departmental Agriculture and Wine Production Laboratory is a service
for farmers and wine growers. Its activity, which represents over 20 000
analysis per year, is fully devoted to improve agricultural and wine-growing
productions. Its technical capabilities are acknowledged as much for soil
analysis, with the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture, as for the
analysis of wines and spirits for which the COFRAC (Accrediting French
Committee) has delivered the corresponding approvals. If nological
analysis constitute the outstanding activity, this service devotes a particular
attention to professional organisations in order for them to carry out
their technical projects.

The delivery of certificates for the export of wines and spirits as well
as the carrying out of analysis, essential to the granting of Community
help, constitute a major service in favour of wine-growers.
The departmental Agriculture and Wine Production Laboratory is also aimed at
all users which will be able and find a whole set of determinations in order
to judge the quality of a wine or of a spirit (Armagnac) and to estimate the
fertility of an agricultural soil or of a garden. To those who whish so, a
consulting activity usefully completes the analytical data.
